MOD Wraparound Childcare / Total Childcare Scheme (TCS) with ActiveMe 360
Who this is for:
-
Serving personnel in the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, British Army or Royal Air Force (including eligible FTRS) who:
-
Want help with the cost of before/after school wraparound care during term time, and
-
Use (or plan to use) an ActiveMe 360 wraparound club, and
-
Have, or will have, a Tax‑Free Childcare (TFC) account for their child.
1. What the scheme is (in simple terms)
What it does: Helps eligible Armed Forces families with the cost of registered before and after school childcare during term time.
What it doesn’t do: It does not give you a place automatically. You still choose, book and pay your provider (e.g. ActiveMe 360), then claim eligible costs back via your Service’s process.
Who decides the rules: The MOD and your single Service (via Discover My Benefits, DINs etc.) – not ActiveMe 360.
2. When you can use it with ActiveMe 360
-
You can normally use the scheme for:
Eligible ActiveMe 360 wraparound care only – typically our Ofsted‑registered Active+ Wraparound Care before/after school clubs that accept Tax‑Free Childcare.
-
You usually cannot use it for:
Holiday camps and most standalone holiday activities (unless your Service’s official guidance clearly says otherwise).
Always check:
-
The info on your specific school club page (registration + TFC accepted).
-
Your Service’s latest scheme guidance on Discover My Benefits.
3. The 7‑step process (high‑level)
1.Check eligibility
-
Go to Discover My Benefits, choose your Service and use the Wraparound Childcare / TCS tools and flowcharts.
-
If unsure, speak to Unit HR/admin or your named scheme contact.
2. Make sure your children are on the system
-
Record each child on your personnel system (e.g. JPA) and upload any required evidence (e.g. birth certificates).
-
Check they’re shown as verified/approved.
3. Set up Tax‑Free Childcare (TFC)
-
Apply for a TFC account for each child via GOV.UK.
-
Keep each account “active” by reconfirming with HMRC when prompted.
4. Register for the MOD scheme
-
Follow your Service’s instructions to register each child and link your chosen provider(s).
-
Only assume support applies once the system shows your child as successfully registered and you know from which date you can claim.
5. Pay ActiveMe 360 using TFC
-
Log in to your child’s TFC account and search for “Active Me 360 CIC” (often using postcode SO32 2RB).
-
Send a payment to ActiveMe 360 for the amount you need.
-
Wait for it to appear as credit on your ActiveMe 360 account (typically within 24–48 hours).
6. Book your ActiveMe 360 wraparound care
-
Go to the ActiveMe 360 booking site, choose your school’s “Active+ Wraparound Care” club, select dates and sessions, then check out using your available credit.
-
Keep your confirmation email/invoice.
7. Submit your claim to the MOD
-
Use your Service’s process (e.g. JPA or portal) to claim for eligible costs, attaching or referencing your invoices as required.
-
Check your claim status and pay statements to see when funding is applied.
