Winchester City Council Holiday Sports Projects

This article provides additional information and frequently asked questions about our holiday sports projects held in partnership with Winchester City Council.

Where do the sessions take place?

Community projects in partnership with Winchester City Council take place at a range of locations across the district. Locations do vary depending on the project and facilities available, so please check on our booking page for confirmation of venues and timings for upcoming projects.

What is the purpose of this project?

We want to give people in the Winchester district the opportunity to improve their health and wellbeing by accessing high quality sports sessions during the school holidays.

How can I book?

You’ll need to head over to our booking page which can be found here.

When will details of the next project be released?

We are normally able to confirm details 6 weeks prior to the project taking place. Keep an eye on Winchester City Council social channels as well as our own social media pages and website for updates!

How can I suggest a location for a future project?

Please e-mail hello@Activeme360.com to suggest a venue. We’ll work with our colleagues at Winchester City Council to see if this is a viable option for the next project.

I am currently receiving Government support; can I apply for my child to attend free of charge?

Yes. Please e-mail hello@activeme360.com and one of our team will be able to help you.

My child is attending a session, what do they need to wear?

For football projects children MUST wear shinpads and suitable footwear. Please check information on your booking confirmation to see if football boots are appropriate for your venue. If in doubt get in touch and we’ll be able to let you know.

Please also bring a water bottle and rain jacket/sunscreen depending on the weather!

How do I know if the session is cancelled due to bad weather?

Cancelling a session is always our last resort, but sadly sometimes the weather gets the better of us and it is unsafe to run a session. If this does happen, we will contact all parents via e-mail as well as updating our social media channels. Winchester City Council will also update their social media channels.

If a session is cancelled part way through because of unsafe weather, our team will give you a call. Don’t worry, we will never leave any children on their own so don’t worry if you aren't able to collect them straight away!
